Mother Essences (also known as 'Mother Essence Tinctures' MET) are pure, undiluted Flower Essences that are used in the manufacture of Stock Flower Essences. The precious MET liquid is added, in drops, to infuse the stock Flower Essence bottles.

Ordering Mother Essences (MET)

Single MET are individual Essences, such as Aspen, Mimulus, Elm, Cerato etc.
Minimum first order of Single MET - 100ml combined.
Single MET available in 10ml, 30ml, 50ml, 100ml or 300ml bottles (your first order would need to be a total of 100mls or more).

Blended MET are mixtures with equal quantities of different individual Essences.
Minimum first order of Blended MET - 300ml combined.
Blended MET available in 100ml, 300ml & 500ml bottles (your first order would need to be a total of 300mls or more).

Availability and pricings relate to several criteria, including:

  • ​​The quantity of Mother Essences (MET) stock we have available in any one year.

  • The availability of the flower, bud or catkin in the given 'Remedy-Making Year'.
    Because we make our 'solar infused' Mothers outdoors and in the wild - to the precise methods of Dr Bach - we are reliant on perfect conditions. This can sometimes be reduced to just one single day, in any year, when the flowers are in perfect bloom corresponding with perfect sunny weather conditions at the correct time of day for making the Remedy.
    We all know how variable the British weather can be! And we insist upon the highest possible standards - perfect weather conditions - when making our MET.

  • The location of the plant, therefore the cost of production (some Essences, such as Olive, are made in foreign countries).

  • The scarcity of the plant in the wild (some species, such as the English Elm Ulmus procera, are exceptionally rare and are now practically an endangered species).
Preserved in the traditional way with high quality Organic Brandy.

Personalised Certificates of Analysis and Specification Sheets for the MET will be supplied with your order (CofA).​ An information sheet with guidelines on production will also be included in the parcel upon request. ​​

Making MET

I dreamt of this!

Yesterday I attended a small group meditation technique called a 'gong bath'. During the session I drifted off into a deep and peaceful meditation and had a very vivid visualisation (or dream) of a beautiful, vibrant and extraordinarily tall Chicory plant. 
At sunrise the next morning I went on a journey to find that plant. I drove for a couple of hours - to a special place where I'd made wild Chicory Essence many years ago. And then set off on foot, under clear blue skies and the baking sun to find some wild Chicory plants where I could make a Remedy. Eventually I found a lovely and abundant patch of Chicory but felt strangely compelled to carefully delve further into the patch. Once in the centre of the group of flowers, I turned, and there - right in front of me -  was that very same plant that I had seen in my 'visualisation' the day before. The shape, height, the deeper-blue colour of the petals - it was exactly the same in every way to the plant I'd envisaged during my meditation. This plant was stronger, more vibrant and exuded more energy than the other surrounding Chicory flowers. I knew that I just had to make a Remedy from it.

Now, whether you believe in premonitions or visualisations or not, it's difficult for me to explain this experience. But I am so happy to have made what I believe to be a very special batch of organic Chicory Bach Flower Essence today.

The staff of Creature Comforters® have a wealth of expertise in the field of alternative therapies and, specifically, Flower Essences as practitioners, producers, tutors and authors. Jane Stevenson, founder of our company, is an Advanced Flower Essence Practitioner of nearly 40 years experience. Creature Comforters® is based by the English seaside town of Cromer on the North Norfolk coast. This is the same town that Dr Bach resided whilst discovering and developing many of the 'Bach Flower Remedies' in the 1930's, and we feel privileged to continue this important work from its original roots more...
