Case Study 1
History and Analysis
Rosie was a horse who has suffered some neglect from previous owners. Her new owner said: "Rosie was very depressed and withdrawn. She actually looked dead behind the eyes." Her new owner nursed her back to health with a combination of love, care and attention and a course of Personalised Flower Essence Blends. Action A course of flower essences to address behaviours/emotions and to help give a natural boost to the animal's emotional 'healing' system to act as a catalyst to recovery. Outcome A very positive outcome. In her owner's own words: "After taking the remedies she started to take an interest in things and her cheeky character emerged. She became much more confident and enjoyed cuddles. "As time went on she improved and would run in the field and roll about, which she never did before. Now that she has moved to a new home [mine] and with company she is even happier and has really blossomed which has been wonderful to witness" |
Case Study 2
History and Analysis
Jordan had suffered what her owner described as: "a nervous breakdown", following the loss of her 2 kennel mates and a severe phantom pregnancy. Jordan refused to eat anything and her owners had resorted to putting food through the blender and literally force feeding her. Her owners said: "She had given up on life itself". Her owners took Jordan to the vet on numerous occasions. However her owners said: "The vet was at a complete loss as to what to do next medically (there was nothing physically wrong)". Her owners continued like this for 6 months until they found the Creature Comforters website (formerly 'Sun Essences for Animals'), where they requested a consultation for a Personalised Blend. Action A course of flower essences to help address behaviours/emotions and to help give a natural boost to the animal's 'healing' system to act as a catalyst to recovery. Outcome A very positive outcome where Jordan regained her appetite, her vitality and her strength. In the owners own words: "I am writing to you to express my sincere thanks and gratitude for helping my dog Jordan. You sent me some remedies and they have cured my girl. She no longer refuses food, she stands proud with confidence and now she plays - my girl is back to being happy once again. I cannot thank you enough." |
Case Study 3
History and Analysis
Misty (a Palomino pony) was rescued 6 months ago. She had been neglected and so was extremely distressed and on the point of near death from starvation. Misty has been lovingly nursed back to health by her new owner Rachel and received all the necessary veterinary treatment for her various problems, she is now a picture of physical health. However, Rachel was concerned that Misty was still very anxious and irritable whilst having her girth tightened and nervous whilst having her rug on. The vet had previously checked her over and not found any problems in that area, so Rachel thought that perhaps it was connected with her previous traumatic experiences and wanted something to help her forget the past. Misty was also very excitable whilst out on a ride and needed to be calmed down. On top of this there was the problem of firework night: Misty's stable was next to some land used for a firework display! Unfortunately Rachel was unable to move her to a quieter location for the night. When it came to choosing a blend for Misty, Rachel was unsure whether to get the Courage, Balance or Relax Blend as her pony seemed to need all 3 of them. Action Misty had a Personalised Blend (to help with her past experiences) and to use the Relax Blend on the days leading up to and on Bonfire night. The Personalised Blend contained a combination of essences to help Misty overcome her fear and trauma from the past, and to help her be relaxed and calm. Outcome Misty improved greatly after one bottle, Rachel, her owner, says she is now “Much more loving to hug and fuss over, not so excitable on rides, and much better with the girth”. She also had remarkable results with the Relax blend. Her owner reported that, as the fireworks were happening, Misty stood calmly in her nearby field, seemingly unaffected by the fireworks. |

Outcome A very satisfactory outcome. In the owners own words: "Nelson doesn't appear to be licking as frantically as before. It definitely seems to be working. Case Study 6
History and Analysis
A few years ago 'Dragon's' Blacksmith had accidentally caused him deep bruising in his front hooves. After that he had become asthmatic (not related) and therefore wasn't ridden for some time. His asthma improved so his owner resumed riding with him again. However 'Dragon' still believed he was lame. There were no physical problems, but he had lost his confidence, couldn't relax and didn't enjoy being ridden. He took little, short steps, sweated a lot and did lots of droppings. The vet had checked him over and had concluded that 'Dragon's' problems were: "All in his mind." His owner said he had: "Lost his sparkle." Action Firstly he was given a bottle of 'Courage' Blend. This improved his behaviour. He became more confident and less stressed. However, it didn't address his complex temperament and he needed some help with addressing his past traumatic experience with the Blacksmith. Therefore he was prescribed a course of flower essences to address behaviours/emotions including for: Trauma, Terror, Timidity, Trepidation, Unconfident, Tension, Stress, Seriousness, Overwhelmed and Inability to forget the past. Outcome A very good outcome. In the owner's own words: "Dragon is much better (after taking the remedy) and he is more like his old self." |
Case Study 7

He also needed a remedy for his emotional problems that included, in his owner's words: "Toby was highly-strung, excitable and sometimes a bit possessive with things (toys, cushions, leaves) to the point of aggression. He liked to be the 'top dog'. When he was stressed he would frantically scratch himself raw." Action A specially made, individual jar of external cream to apply to his skin. A course of flower essences to help address his negative behaviours/emotions. Outcome A good outcome. In the owner's own words: "Toby finds the cream very soothing. His skin condition has almost cleared up, his coat is nice condition and the weather is cooling so that is helping too. Since taking his Personalised Blend he has greatly improved and I am very pleased with him. I know your remedy has really helped. I feel sure the remedy calmed him down." |

In his owners word's: "Solly has recently been diagnosed as suffering with arthritis in the lower leg region and is due to go for X-rays to assess the extent of the problem. The vet thinks Solly may only have 2 years to live. Case Study 11
History and Analysis
Harry was previously a well-behaved horse. However, for the past 18 months he suddenly would not allow the farrier to go near his hind foot. This farrier had shod Harry since he was 3 years old. The owners eventually had to resort to asking the vet to heavily sedate Harry (so he was "Knocked out") before the farrier could examine him. When not sedated Harry had begun to 'lash out' at his owners, to buck and to kick - which was completely out of character. Action A course of flower essences to help address behaviours/emotions. Essences included: Dandelion, Orange Hawkweed, Chamomile, Bluebell, Cherry Plum, Mimulus, Aspen, Rock Rose and Star of Bethlehem. Outcome A very positive outcome. Harry returned to normal. He was calmer, more passive and less likely to 'lash out', buck or kick. His owner, Mrs Haigh said: "Thank you very much for the essence for Harry - I just cannot believe it - he's such a different horse. My very grateful thanks for all your help." |

Case Study 13
History and Analysis
Thistle is a really lovely dog and I found that her main issue is anxiety and trauma. This makes her very stressed and because of this she reacts aggressively towards other dogs. She is not dominant at all, but is quite protective towards you which can also make her edgy with other dogs. I hope it helps her to calm down and feel less stressed. Action A course of flower essences to help address behaviours/emotions. Outcome In her owners' own words: Just an update on Thistle as we are ending our first bottle. I felt a difference in her within day 3 she suddenly felt at "ease”, it was a strange feeling , (Thistle and I are very close). After that I have gradually seen her relax more and even greet 3 labradors she didnt know! My husband was amazed and even looked at me and said wow! She regressed for a couple of days because I got so "oh lets see her pass this dog it looks ok" and poor Thistle didnt like it too much so did regress a bit. It was only when I realised that it was me causing the problem and I changed back to avoiding strange dogs again then she got better again, at home she has got even more loving if that is possible. She is on us wanting to play and love us all the time- especialy when its food time. |
